Certified Nursing Assistant


Course Objective: This course provides students with knowledge and skill required to be a Certified Nursing Assistant. Students will be in lecture class where they will learn about the role of a CNA, safety and infection control, the body system and how they relate to patient care, follow problems residents face and how to aid them. Skill lab will provide students with the chance to practice skills that a CNA is require to know and will walk-through and later test on them. Lastly, students will go to a site to do the clinical part of the course where students will have one on one interaction with real patients. After the completion of the course, a student will be able to take the Arizona Board of Nursing CNA test. Students can also apply for the LNA. Contact us for more information.
 

Admission Requirements


Requirements: Students are required to be at least 16 years of age and be able to pass an entrance exam.

Timeline: 120 clock hours (approximately 6-8 weeks)

Advance placement available for those who qualify: 32 hrs+

 
 

Phlebotomy Technician


Course Objective: The objective of this course is to provide with the basic skills and concepts in the field of phlebotomy. Intent: The intent is to capacitate individuals to work with venipunctures and capillary blood draws, as well as urine specimen collection and different types of CLIA waived tests and special phlebotomy procedures. Training includes: OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, CPR, First Aid, and Blood borne pathogens. Basics of medical terminology, abbreviations, anatomy and how to relate to laboratory testing will be covered. Proper collection, handling and transportation of specimens, the use of equipment for laboratory testing and personal protective gear will be a major focus for this course.
 

Admission Requirements


Requirements: Students are required to be at least 18 years of age, have US High School Diploma or GED Certification and clean criminal background check. Those students that have graduated from a non-English speaking country will have to demonstrate English proficiency by taking the Wonderlic Test and achieving scores of at least 275 on the verbal section and at least 290 on the quantitative section. Prerequisites: High School Diploma or GED Certificate. Timeline: 320 clock hours (approximately 13-20 weeks)
 
 

Electrocardiogram Technician


Course Objective: The Objective of this course is to provide with the basic skills and concepts in the field of ECG or EKG. Intent: The intent of the program is to capacitate individuals to work with patients undergoing ECG tests, and able to understand the anatomy of the heart, heart rhythms, causes for and treatments of different rhythms, and patient signs and symptoms associated with these rhythms. Students will be able to perform ECG and other cardiovascular tests as well as pulmonary tests.
 

Admission Requirements


Requirements: Students are required to be at least 18 years of age, have US High School Diploma or GED Certification and clean criminal background check. Those students that have graduated from a non-English speaking country will have to demonstrate English proficiency by taking the Wonderlic Test and achieving scores of at least 275 on the verbal section and at least 290 on the quantitative section. Prerequisites: High School Diploma or GED Certificate. Timeline: 80 clock hours (approximately 5 weeks)
 
 

Patient Care Technician


Course Objective: The objective of this course is to provide with the basic skills and concepts in the field of Patient Care Technician. Intent: The intent of the program is to capacitate individuals to work with patients in a Nursing facility, Long-term Care facility, medical offices or hospital. Students will learn theory and practice of basic nursing skills to be prepared to work in different healthcare environment. The course will cover gross anatomy and associated pathologies for the gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, renal/urinary and endocrine systems, and learn specific clinical skills related to each body system or organs affected. Additionally, students will learn concepts and skills related to nutrition and acute emergency interventions.
 

Admission Requirements


Requirements: Students are required to be at least 18 years of age, have US High School Diploma or GED Certification and clean criminal background check. Those students that have graduated from a non-English speaking country will have to demonstrate English proficiency by taking the Wonderlic Test and achieving scores of at least 275 on the verbal section and at least 290 on the quantitative section. Prerequisites: High School Diploma or GED Certificate, provide proof of licensure in good standing as an Arizona Certified Nursing Assistant, provide proof of certification as an Electrocardiogram Technician and certification as a Phlebotomy Technician. Timeline: 520 clock hours (approximately 20-30 weeks)
